About Hickson Endeavours
Our Mission
Hickson Endeavours is on a mission to quietly upgrade the operating system of human wellbeing, rooted in the legacy of James Hickson and carried forward by his grandson, Jason “Jay” Lee.
As a family, the work focuses on making the future feel more human, not less, so that progress becomes something people experience as safety, dignity, and possibility in their everyday lives rather than as disruption.
Across the ventures, Hickson Endeavours weaves together science, healing, housing, human potential, capital, professional sports, and extraplanetary systems into one coherent bridge between where humanity is and where it is going. Instead of isolated projects, the family is building integrated platforms that connect policy design, cutting edge research, community infrastructure, specialized care delivery, and mission driven capital into a single engine for change, guided at every step by the values and resilience passed down from James Hickson.
Life, Lived & Living
In our family, growth has always meant jumping off the porch together and stepping into new environments that stretch us. Jay’s early years ran through both technology and athletics, playing college football in the Great American Conference while interning at Octo, then Paycom, then Clear Channel Outdoor, learning how complex systems behave when real people depend on them. That mix of high level sport and real world technology work trained him to see patterns, stay disciplined under pressure, and care about what actually works outside of a classroom or a slide deck.
Along the way, Jay’s path pivoted from debugging code and networks to walking hospital corridors at places like Centennial Peaks Hospital, working in mental health settings, and spending extended time in communities across South and Central America.
Those seasons, combined with late night shifts and life in multiple cities and states, deepened his empathy and curiosity about how people from very different backgrounds navigate systems that were often not built for them, and his relationship with his grandfather James in those final years made it clear that this work is a way of honoring the lives, sacrifices, and dreams that came before while building something better for those who come next.
The Pivot: From Lab Coat to Platform Builder
Somewhere in those hospital shifts and community immersions, Jay’s dream evolved. He realized that a doctorate in neuroscience, while meaningful, would likely keep him advancing knowledge in ways that touched only a small fraction of the people he was meeting in real time. The problems he saw in hallways, courtrooms, schools, neighborhoods, and even locker rooms and front offices needed something different: platforms that could move insight, capital, care, and culture all at once.
Instead of becoming a traditional researcher, Jay chose to become a builder of systems that make the future feel more human, not less. He shifted his focus to creating companies, structures, and capital pathways that equip scientists, clinicians, builders, community leaders, and now athletes and league architects with what they need to turn deep knowledge into everyday change that feels almost unnoticeable but is transformational over a lifetime.
That decision is what gave birth to Hickson Endeavours and its family of ventures, each one a different piece of a shared mission to quietly upgrade the operating system of human wellbeing on Earth and beyond, including the emotional and relational ecosystem of professional sports.
Building a Platform for Change
What our family has learned from these years is simple: personal breakthroughs matter, but they are not enough on their own. Real change happens when the systems around people begin to shift, so that dignity, safety, joy, and opportunity are built into everyday life instead of depending on rare moments of individual strength. When science, policy, housing, care, capital, space and habitat design, and even the culture of sport are woven together around human needs, the operating system itself starts to change in quiet but lasting ways.
That belief is why Hickson Endeavours was built as a multi‑venture platform instead of a single project. Each venture focuses on a different, essential dimension of human wellbeing, from brain health and daily environments to off‑world societies, long‑term legacy, mission‑driven capital, and now the emotional and relational ecosystem of professional sports. Together they form a growing flywheel that our family can keep strengthening and passing forward across generations, so that the future feels more human, not less, for everyone who steps into it.
Hickson Endeavours – Hickson Endeavours is the holding company and a social purpose behavioral insight practice that helps communities and public systems understand why serious harm happens and how to change the conditions that allow it, so that safety, dignity, and trust can grow on all sides of the system. By combining behavioral science, frontline perspectives, and careful interviewing, Hickson Endeavours translates painful events and persistent local problems into small, practical changes in laws, services, and institutions that reduce violence, lower repeat contact, and make public systems feel more trustworthy and humane in everyday life.
Hickson Extraplanatery Systems Institute (HESI) - Hickson Extraplanetary Systems Institute designs the social, cultural, and policy operating systems that let ordinary people thrive beyond Earth, ensuring that future orbital and planetary habitats feel familiar, fair, and deeply human rather than experimental or elite. By listening closely to communities on Earth and translating their needs into space‑ready norms, protections, and daily life patterns, HESI works to make our first off‑world societies healthier, kinder, and wiser than the ones we left behind.
Hickson Brain Health Institute (HBHI) - Hickson Brain Health Institute advances ethical brain science and real‑world trials that quietly re‑engineer the conditions around us so healthier minds, safer choices, and deeper empathy become the easy, everyday path for every culture. By decoding how emotions, environments, and systems shape behavior, HBHI helps redesign education, justice, and community life in ways that gently improve brain health and wellbeing across generations without anyone feeling engineered or left out.
Hickson Optimal Elite Sports (HOES) - Hickson Optimal Elite Sports keeps professional sports fun, low stress, and high performing by quietly re‑engineering the conditions around the game so joy, flow, and healthy pressure become the default for everyone in the ecosystem, without disrupting the core of how athletes already know and love their sport. With a clear, proven focus on the systems around the field, our goal is to make change feel seamless, protecting the integrity, traditions, and competitive edge of the game while easing the friction around it. Doing so by decoding how contracts, culture, emotions, and power dynamics shape behavior across leagues and designing conflict systems that confidently turn the most complex disputes between owners, players, coaches, and staff into smoother routines, healthier relationships, and more sustainable careers on and off the field.
Hickson Innovation Funding Group (HIFG) - Hickson Innovation Funding Group mobilizes mission‑driven capital to back people, technologies, and places that move our species forward while tangibly improving daily life in the communities they touch. By pairing global investment with local wisdom and relationship‑driven partnerships, HIFG helps build a woven world where neighbors, cities, and nations rise together into the future instead of being divided by who gets there first.
What Drives Us
Too many systems are still built around abstractions, metrics, and short term wins instead of the real people who have to live with them. Research gets stuck in journals, technology races ahead of trust, capital chases quick returns, and whole communities are left feeling unheard, over managed, and under served.
Hickson Endeavours exists to move in another direction: to help build a human operating system for the future that ordinary people actually want to live inside. Drawing on behavioral science, lived experience, and the emotional realities of everyday life, the work focuses on listening first, then translating what people say, fear, and hope for into policies, products, places, and sports environments that feel natural rather than disruptive.
Across hospitals and courtrooms, classrooms and clinics, locker rooms and boardrooms, the same pattern keeps appearing: people are capable of far more than current systems allow them to show. The path forward is to quietly rewire those systems so that healthier choices, stronger relationships, lower stress, and fairer opportunities become the default, not the exception, while honoring the cultures, stories, and identities that are already there.
This is what drives Hickson Endeavours: acting as a trusted bridge between where humanity is and where it is going, so that the transition to our next chapter feels steady instead of jarring, familiar instead of alien. For anyone engaging directly with services on this site, whether personal coaching, organizational advising, early stage behavioral insight work, or conflict systems design in professional sports, those services are delivered personally by founder Jay Lee, keeping every engagement close to the science, the story, and the values at the heart of this work.
